A Hymn for Sunday

Holy, Holy, Holy

Words by: Reginald Heber, 1783-1826
Music by: John B. Dykes, 1823-1876

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;

Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;

Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,

Which wert, and art, and ever more shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
Only Thou are holy- there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in pow'r, in love and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth, and sky, and sea;

Holy, holy, holy- merciful and mighty!

God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

This is one of my favorite hymns, Ashley! And one of Leah's and my favorite ones to sing together. The words are so powerful with such depth and meaning to them. The Lord is indeed holy and His works do praise His awesome name!

Thank you for sharing this hymn as well as the beautiful photos!
