Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood!
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long,
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood!
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long,
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight!
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight!
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long,
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight!
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long,
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.

It was so nice to see another "Hymn for Sunday" post, Ashley! This is one of my favorite hymns. :) It is such a comfort to have this assurance which is found in Christ . . . it is indeed a blessed assurance!
The photos are all so beautiful! I especially liked the one of the bachelor buttons with the bee. :)
Thanks for sharing another wonderful hymn! I actually acted to be Fanny Crosby one year for our homeschool group, at a "History Day" and that song was part of my presentation. Do you know how it came into being???
Have a wonderful week!!!
Sarah- I was glad to able to do another one of the Hymn for Sunday posts as I had been missing them myself. I'm glad you enjoyed this one!

Ashley Sebo-You're welcome!
I'm sure that I've heard how this hymn came into being, but I'm not recollecting it at the moment. Would you care to share? :o)

Sure!
...Pheobe Knapp was a well skilled musician who loved to compose melodies. One day while her good friend, Fanny Crosby, was visiting, Mrs. Knapp shared the new melody with her. As Fanny sat there listening she jumped up and said" Blessed Assurance!!!" and that is how it all began!
Hope that is good enough....
Have a lovely week!
