This Is My Father's World
Words by: Maltbie D. Babcock, 1858-1901
Music by: Franklin L. Sheppard, 1852-1930
This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears,
All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Fathers' world, the birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;He speaks to me everywhere.
The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;He speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world: the battle is not done:
Jesus Who died shall be satisfied, And earth and Heav’n be one.

Asley waht a beautiful hymn I have never heard of this such lovley & truthful words Marie x
Marie- As I read this hymn I too was struck with the beauty and truth of the words. It seemed to fit perfectly with everything that is going on around us these days! What a relief to know that the Lord is "the ruler yet" and that we can trust Him no matter what happens!

I love this hymn, Ashley! It is one of my favorites to sing with my sister . . . like you shared in the previous comment, what a comfort to know that God is the ruler and Lord over all, and we can place our trust fully in Him.
I also loved the photos! Beautiful!
