A Hymn for Sunday

I'll Go Where You Want Me to Go
Lyrics by- Mary Brown
Music by- Carrie Rounsefell

It may not be on the mountain height, Or over the stormy sea,
It may not be at the battle's front My Lord will have need of me:
But if by a still, small voice He calls To paths that I do not know,
I'll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Thine, I'll go where You want me to go.
I'll go where You want me to go, dear Lord, Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I'll say what You want me to say, dear Lord. I'll be what You want me to be.

Perhaps today there are loving words Which Jesus would have me speak:
There may be now in the paths of sin Some wand'rer whom I should seek.
O Saviour, if Thou wilt be my Guide, Tho' dark and rugged the way,
My voice shall echo the message sweet. I'll say what You want me to say.
I'll go where You want me to go, dear Lord, Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I'll say what You want me to say, dear Lord. I'll be what You want me to be.

There surely somewhere a lowly place In earth's harvest fields so wide
Where I may labor thro' life's short day For Jesus, the Crucified.
So trusting my all to Thy tender care, And knowing Thou lovest me,
I'll do Thy will with a heart sincere. I'll be what You want me to be.
I'll go where You want me to go, dear Lord, Over mountain, or plain, or sea.
I'll say what You want me to say, dear Lord. I'll be what You want me to be.

As we sang this hymn last Sunday I was reminded of the place that the Lord has called me to serve; my home. As a daughter at home, I have the privilege to serve my family and those that the Lord sees fit to bring into our home. To some it might seem that I'm not doing anything that will change the lives of others or that I'm not in "a ministry", but I disagree. By serving the men-folk in our family, we are giving them the ability to be free to go about the business that the Lord has given them to do!! Maybe it is clearing land and building fences or maybe it's getting to know our "neighbors" a little better and having an influence in their lives; either way, this is what God has given them to do. This is what the Lord has given me a heart and a desire for and I find such delight and contentment in fulfilling His calling!
