A Hymn for Sunday

"Let Him Have His Way with Thee"
Cyrus S. Nusbaum

Would you live for Jesus and be always pure and good?
Would you walk with Him within the narrow road?
Would you have Him bear your burden, carry all your load?
Let Him have His way with thee.

His pow'r can make you what you ought to be.

His blood can cleanse your heart and make you free.

His love can fill your soul, and you will see

'Twas best for Him to have His way with thee.

Would you have Him make you free, and follow at His call?
Would you know the peace that comes by giving all?
Would you have Him save you, so that you need never fall?

Let Him have His way with thee.

His pow'r can make you what you ought to be.
His blood can cleanse your heart and make you free.
His love can fill your soul, and you will see

'Twas best for Him to have His way with thee.

Would you in His kingdom find a place of constant rest?
Would you prove Him true in providential test?
Would you in His service labor always at your best?

Let Him have His way with thee.

His pow'r can make you what you ought to be.
His blood can cleanse you heart and make you free.

His love can fill your soul, and you will see
'Twas best for Him to have His way with thee.

Beautiful, beautiful hymn, Ashley! (As well as the photos.) Yes, may we truly yield our hearts to the Lord and let Him have His way with us!

Ashley, I love this hymn. As I sat here reading the stanzas in the still of the night, each time I reached the chorus, I'd sing it aloud. Thank you for prompting a special time of quiet praise.

Thanks for posting the hymn "His Way with Thee." Today (July 27) is the anniversary of the birth of the author, Cyrus Nusbaum. You can learn more about him on my blog.

Letting God have his way with us isn't always easy. But it encourages our faith to know that "His power can make us what we ought to be"! God bless.
